GOD’S COVENANT WITH YOUR DESTINY:

One day as I was reading and pondering on the word, this thought went through my mind, and I said "God has made a covenant with our destiny, but many struggle to go on", and the Lord reminded me that when He called Abraham, Abraham was not a young man, he was old ,and God gave him many promises and made covenants with him. He told him that, one day Abraham would be a father to many nations. It was difficult for him to understand because he was not a father, he had no children. It was hard for Abraham to see it, because of his age, but he believed it. But when he opened that covenant of promise inside of him, it started to come to pass.

Many of you are in the same place, with your destiny, well let me tell you it is time to open that promise in you.

Turn your Bibles to Gen ;28:12-22

12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

13 And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;

14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

15 And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.

16 And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not.

17 And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.

18 And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.

19 And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first.

20 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,

21 So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the Lord be my God:

22 And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee”.

This is one of my favorite scriptures, for it has meant a lot to me.

You all are familiar with this story I am sure of where Jacob has cheated his brother of his birth right and is running for his life. He is desperate and in pain, he has no direction, so when he gets tired, he just lays down on the ground. He is so caught up on the pain and fear, he does not realize that he is laying on sacred ground. We all know how he struggles with the Angels, and finally, God changes his name to “Israel”.

I want you to see here that as he sought the Lord and wrestled with the angels, he opened the destiny and the promise in Jacob, and you'll see the Lord called him “ Israel”, because he was laying on Israel.

His destiny, and the heavens opened and his life was changed. Once the destiny was open in him, Jacob realized he was standing on his future.

Turn to Gen 35: 1,-9-18

And God said unto Jacob, 'Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother'. And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed him.

10 And God said unto him, 'Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name': and he called his name Israel.

11 And God said unto him, 'I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;

12 And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.'

13 And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.

14 And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.

15 And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Bethel.

16 And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.

17 And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.

18 And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin.

See in this passage, the Lord appeared to Jacob again and assured him, that if he stayed faithful and obedient, He would bless him.

Now the Lord knew that Jacob was not perfect, but he was obedient to God. Many of you have been told that till you become perfect, God is not going to use you. You can see through Jacobs example, God is looking for obedience, more than perfection. When God asks you to do something, obey! Your obedience creates an Altar, where you are placing yourself at the Altar to obey Him.

When Jacob was running, he was afraid of death, but when the Lord Shows up, there takes place another death. We can run from physical death, but we cannot run from the death of self, and when that kind of death takes place, you start to become fruitful.

So in order for your destiny to be opened and be fruitful, we must die to our self! Until that happens you cannot totally identify with Christ within us. Learn not to fret over your difficult times. Let the light in you shine bright, don’t let darkness come upon your destiny! Turn your eyes and hope, and your promises to the light of resurrection.

In Closing, start walking in obedience to His word, and His promises. Build an Altar and place yourself on it, and see the Lord come, just as He provided a Ram for Isaiah, he will do the same for you. And know He will walk with you each step of your destiny because, He has made a covenant with you and your destiny.
