THE FIRE OF GOD IN OUR SERVICES

SUNDAY, APRIL 20, 2008

Cynthia Luthra

I have known for sometime that we were going to receive a visitation from the Lord, but I did not know when. It came in a very unassuming way on Passover Sunday. The Word that was preached was the second message in a series on Walking with God. We were given the insight that the way we live today hurts the heart of God. We were encouraged to evaluate our own character, and to move up higher than where we are now living. We were exhorted to give up all we have to gain what He has for us. We were told that it is time to stop playing church and learn to live in the Supernatural. We were encouraged to change our mind, the way we think, so that we can flow with the Spirit of God and to let our ears be available to hear what the Master is saying. Finally we were exhorted to dedicate the Temple (our bodies/lives) to the Lord because when we give ourselves to God He responds in a glorious way. Pastor Lou reminded us that when Solomon gave himself and his best offerings to the Lord that the Lord responded with His Glory. The message was closed with what has been proved to be a prophetic word from the Lord. The final Word was, “The fire of God is available to move us forward.”

Though we all left knowing that the Lord had spoken to us in a profound way, we did not yet fully grasp what the Lord had done in our midst that Sunday. As I sat at home that afternoon, I felt that the fire of God was coming into our Body. I was still burning from the service and I was thanking God for coming the way that He did in the service that day. The Lord spoke to me and asked me what day it was. He told me to go look at the calendar. I realized that that Sunday was the first day of Passover. I realized then that what the Lord had done was significant; it was not just a touch from God and it was not just another experience. The Lord spoke to me that what He had done that day was the beginning of a process to move His people out of Egypt.

When I realized what had happened I began to make calls to everyone in the congregation. Every one that I spoke to had been significantly impacted by the Lord’s Spirit in the hours following that service. One person slept all day and found renewed strength and vitality when she got up the next day. Several people could not sleep because the Lord had stirred them so mightily in their Spirit. One person found new vitality in their ability to pray and communicate with God. Another realized that something had lifted from them and they were able to feel God in her life again. Every person that I talked to was aware that the Lord had begun something powerful in their lives. I put the Word out the Lord was about to take us out of Egypt and that He was doing something supernatural among us.

The following day, Monday April 21, 2008 I was headed out to pick up some things in town. My forearms, which had started to burn the day before, had not stopped burning. I also noticed that I had Gold Dust all over my face. God was all over me that day. It was like a non-stop visitation from the Lord.

On Tuesday morning, April 22, 2008, we went to California  at a conference in a church out there. I spoke to a friend of ours by telephone on my way out to the conference. I was telling him what the Lord had done in our Church the previous Sunday. He stopped me in the middle of the conversation and told me that he had to go because he was the fire was all over him and he was burning up.

At the conference Br Sadhu prayed for us and as he prayed I fell under the power of God and as I laid there the fire of God got stronger and stronger, I layed on the floor for 4 hours, the meeting got over every one left but a few people stayed back and when I got up.  my arms were on fire. I prayed that the fire would be imparted to the church and others in that church that night. The fire continued to burn  on me,the entire week while we were in California. The burning did not stop all week. The next week the Fire feel in our services again.

The next Sunday in church the fire continued to burn. There were more visitors in the service because I had encouraged those who had been impacted by that first service to invite others who needed to move forward in God. Several responded and there were some visitors in church that next Sunday. I knew that the fire was present, though I did not lay hands on anyone. I felt that they had to make a choice to partake of the fire and understand what the fire meant.

So what does all of this mean? I believe that the Lord is preparing His church to receive the harvest that He wants to bring forth. He is getting the Bride and the Church ready for what He is getting ready to do on the earth. What has been talked about for the last two years is unfolding; it is however in its infancy. Sunday, April 20, 2008 was the beginning of the outpouring.

What the Lord is doing, I believe, will be done in the context of the feasts that He spoke of in Leviticus 23. In the Old Testament days all worship and other observances were carried out around the feasts. The feasts contain prophetic insight and need to be experienced by all believers. The feasts were in fact fulfilled in the ministry of Jesus.

Much of the prophetic impact connected with the feasts has been reserved for this generation. The celebration of the feasts is meant to be experienced by all believers. Specifically I believe the Lord wants to minister the fullness of what He is doing in this hour through the feasts of Passover, Pentecost, and Tabernacles. What He began this past Passover Sunday, He will continue to minister during the feasts of Pentecost in June and Tabernacles in August.

Passover speaks of the New Birth Experience. In Exodus when the people came out of Egypt, they were given freedom from the bondage of the Egyptians and a new life as they moved towards the promise land. When we experienced the Lord’s outpouring on April 20th, the Lord said that He was moving us out of the bondage of Egypt. The Church experiences Passover in the New Birth Experience. Jesus is our Passsovere. He takes us out of the bondage of sin and creates New Life in us.

The Lord has promised to do a quick work in the Last Days. That appears to be what is happening in our Body. He began the process of bringing us out of the bondages of Egypt in April. As we look towards June we see that Pentecost is on the horizon. Pentecost is the feast of the First Fruits. It is the celebration of the first fruits of the harvest that is to come. In Leviticus 23:17 the Lord commanded that the people bring out of their habitation two wave loafs of fine flour that were baked with leaven. When the Early Church obeyed the Lord in this, they would surely experience a great harvest. Leaven of course represents a sin. God wants us to bring Him our sin so that he can deal with it and remove it. This time between Passover and Pentecost is a time to examine your heart and purge your self. At Pentecost He wants to purge us. He wants to remove all of the leaven so that we can be free form doctrinal levels and sin.

The Feast of Tabernacles will come in 2008. Though the Church is very familiar with Passover and Pentecost, she has not ever fully experienced the Feast of Tabernacles. The year of 2008 is a very significant year as it is the year of New Beginnings. So will the Feast of Tabernacles be very significant in 2008. Pursuing God during this time will be very, very important.

The Feast of Tabernacles is preceded by Pentecost; which is the Day of Atonement. The Fire of God’s Grace will give us the ability to move forward in Him. The purpose of the atonement is to lead us into the tabernacle with Him.

The command of the Lord is for us to walk as a Spirit Filled Church. We have been saved and filled with the Holy Spirit and have thought that that was enough. We might ask, “What else is there?” We feel that we have it all. We have not discerned that we are a Church filled with sin and hypocrisy. The issue of False Doctrine is significant. This is all part of our leaven. As long as this leaven is in the Body, we cannot walk in the true revelation of Jesus Christ. Doctrines that are changed by religion keep us out of intimacy with God. We have to rid ourselves of the leaven because there is something supernatural that God will do in the life of the believer if we are seeking a habitation with Him. It will be the greatest outpouring that the Church has ever seen.

God commanded in Exodus 23:15 that the people must observe the feast by eating unleavened bread for seven days. He promised that when they came out of Egypt that none should come before Him empty. God promises to something in everybody’s heart just as he did on Sunday, April 20th in our congregation.

We are on track with the seasons of God by the Grace of God. It is important to stay on track by what we are doing. This generation will see the fullness of all its glory and power. We are entering the fullness of His grace as we move into the feasts of the Lord.
