                                                  The effects of His Glory

Acts 20:32-“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified”

We are living in the last days, earlier when the Glory was felt and seen it was sensed as the manifestation of His Glory, but I believe that the Glory that is being revealed to those who are diligently seeking Him, is being revealed to equip His people for the perilous days ahead of us. Paul said in Acts 20:32”is able to build you up, and give you an inheritance among them which are sanctified”

See many think of God’s glory as some sort of Manifestation, like some feeling coming over them, or you see Angels- But it is simply put, it is God’s Glory that is a revelation of His nature and attributes. The Lord Himself defines His Glory this way in the scripture, when we pray “ Lord show me your glory” we’re actually praying” Father reveal to me who you are” And when you get that revelation, it’s a revelation of how He wants to be know by us”

Moses experience with the Glory of God demonstrated this truth, The Lord sent Moses to deliver Israel without giving him a full revelation of who the God of Israel was. The Lord merely told him” Go and say” I am sent you ”But He gave no explanation of who “I am was” That’s why I believe this is why in Ex33:18 Moses cried “Lord I beseech thee show me thy Glory” See Moses had a hunger to know who the great ‘I AM “was, to know what His nature and Character were all about, he wanted to know all of God attributes.

The Lord answered Moses prayer, first He told Moses to hide himself in the cleft of a rock, yet as Moses waited for the glory of God to appear, there was no thunder, no lightening, no shaking of the earth, rather God’s glory came to him in a simple revelation. Ex34; 6-7,  “6And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,

7Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. “

God only reveals His power and Glory with a purpose in mind, so what was the purpose-it was not to give Moses a thrill, or to build his legacy, or something he could talk about to his grandchildren, No, God allowed Moses to see His glory so that he might be changed by the sight of it, and same is true for us today, so when He reveals His mercy, His Grace- His longsuffering and His readiness to forgive-see as He reveals His glory we will see more of His nature and character. We read in Esp. 1 :17-18, Paul says with a stronger tone” That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

.    The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what the hope of his calling is, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints’ Friends the Lord would like us to understand His Glory  as Moses understood it, Paul says’ let the revelation of God’s glory become so real to you that you become rooted and grounded in it, keep seeking it, study it, appropriate it in your life, until the vision of Christ’s glory burst forth from within you.

Let look at some of the things His Glory will do as we have the revelation:

1.    It changes our relationship with Him. See when Moses saw the revelation of God’s Glory-which He is good, loving, caring, gracious, forgiving, he quickly fell to his knees and worshipped Him. The revelation over whelmed him, He saw how merciful, long suffering and patient God is with His children-even the stiff necked, idolaters, and those that grieve Him, Moses was so stirred by this revelation, he ran out from behind the rock, feel down  and worshipped the Lord. Did you notice before this happened Moses would pray and intercede, weep and plead with God, talk to Him face to face- but soon we see him singing praises on the victory side of the red sea? Even the time when he could not provide water to the people they were ready to stone him, and we read that Moses worshipped.

See many today can pray diligently without ever really worshipping   Him, It is possible to be a prayer warrior and an intercessor and still not be a worshipper of God. You could pray for the need of the entire world, be holy and meek in seeking God’s burden and yet never be a worshipper of God. Many hold worship seminars and teach on worship, but let me tell you worship cannot be learnt, it is a spontaneous outbreak- the act of a heart that’s been overwhelmed by a revelation of God’s glory and His incredible love for us. Worship is a response of gratitude- we understand His love for us, even in our most rotten stage.

See when we finally come to this point of becoming a worshipper we don’t plead for our sin, but we ask God for His guidance, our prayers are more full of compassion then prayers of destruction.

2.    We will lay hold of the rights He has given us by His word.

See when we fail, or make a mistake the devil wants to condemn you and make you feel bad, you need to remember the revelation of His glory you received- and say to yourself Lord I know you are holy and just and won’t wink at sin but I have seen your glory, and I know you’re not out to destroy me, you don’t condemn me in my struggles, on the contrary You show me how loving and long suffering you are towards me- I know I deserve judgment, but you reveal to me your mercy, graciousness, and tenderheartedness.

See many times the test is not about His Judgment, He says He is merciful, gracious, loving, long-suffering, He wants us to stand still and see His Glory vindicate you on all sides. Those who truly worship God claim the blessings of His promises-They see the glory of His love in Christ- and they lay a hold of that glory, to heal and settle their trouble soul.

3. His glory will change our countenance

Ex 34; 35 Says that Moses face shone, and he put the veil upon his face again, until he went in to speak with Him, see a person’s countenance is the outward expression of what is in one’s heart. One can bask in God’s presence all you want, but it is a different matter entirely for His glory to be revealed in you.

In Galt1:15-16 Paul testifies “ It pleased God who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him” What Paul is saying here is that” I have within me more than just some doctrine of Christ, or head knowledge, but I have a revelation of who Christ is – a revelation of His grace, mercy, and love- and this revelation has become the very source of all I am and do, it is the very essence of my life.

One’s countenance gives them away. ISH 3; 8-9”The prophet was saying” your sin witness against you in your very look, whatever is in your heart is going to reveal itself in your countenance.” But on the other hand when you have been with Jesus, even the rankest sinner will be able to tell the difference, because you will carry yourself with a humble assurance- and nothing about you seems hidden-you’ve got no dark spots in your eyes, you won’t carry any grudges or bitterness, if your life is an open book. But if you will appropriate the glory of God you will change every day. Your countenance will become more and more like that of Jesus. The Lord wants us to abide in Him, His revelation will in trust you in Holy living; it will teach you mercy, grace, tenderness & forgiveness.
